COVID-19 has raised a lot of tension due to its bleak and uncertain end. Medics have downed their tools to gather some hope for vulnerable humankind.
Besides the love matters, it’s important we examine how this disease has affected so many relationships. The question many are asking is; has the cure for corona-virus or rather Covid-19 been found?
World Health Organization
The World Health Organization (WHO) has started what it terms as ‘SOLIDARITY’, a worldwide trial, aimed at finding a long lasting solution for the respiratory nightmare. WHO reiterated that they will test some of the existing drug before deploying research from scratch in quest for solution.
”It will be important to get answers quickly, to try to find out what works and what doesn’t work. We think that randomized evidence is the best way to do that”, Said Ana Maria Henao Restrepo, from World Health Organization.
An intensive and wide research has been conducted from the time that Covid-19 pandemic started in an effort to unveil a cure. However, up to now, there are only possibilities but no actual drug has been confirmed.
However, some of the drugs that are anticipated to yield joy for many both victims, families and close friends and relatives have been chosen and more research is ongoing.
Here is a list of the three drugs that might hold the lives of approximated 7 billion people across the globe.
- An experimental antiviral compound called remdesivir (Drug Combo used in combating HIV)
- The malaria medications chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine
- A combination of two HIV drugs, lopinavir and ritonavir
- The same HIV drugs combination plus interferon-beta, an immune system messenger that can help cripple viruses
